Quickstart Guide
Don't want to read the whole manual? Here are the steps you need to get ModuOps up and functioning. You still should read the manual though ;-)
Here's the order you'll want to follow to get going.
- Create a few pieces of Equipment
- Create a Module/Town for your sourcing yard
- Create a Drop Zone for a Yard. Be sure to select
Yard/Interchange/Stagingand set the length to the total storage capacity of the yard. - Create a Module/Town
- Create a Consignee (Industry) or 2 – Enter the name in the Consignee field
- Create a couple of Drop Zones - Enter the Name and length of track associated with a Consignee where cars are set out
- Return to the Consignee details screen and add Car Requests – Select a Consignee and click on
Editto get to car requests - Repeat steps 2 – 5 for the remaining Modules, Drop Zones and Consignees on your layout
- Create a Train
- Give the Train a Route. Set the origin/destination to the yard created above
- Generate a Trainlist for your new Train
- Take the Trainlist to your layout and get to work ;-)
Additional tips: * Keep unit of measurement of rolling stock, drop zones and train length consistent. We suggest feet. * Train length must be set to a value greater than the shortest rolling stock. * Drop Zones handle many cars by setting the length of the zone. The length should be greater than or equal to the total length of the rolling stock intended to go there. A drop zone of 150 feet can hold 3 (50 foot) box cars.
